I love all of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I think that too many people dislike them just because they are made by Disney or are condidered “children’s movies”. Today I am giving a thumbs up to the actors, directors, cameramen, stunt people, extras, and everybody else involved in the making of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Thank you so much for the great entertainment.
Alright, today I am giving a great big, non-homophobic thumbs up to Alexander the Great. As many know, Alexander was bisexual. I am trying to make more aware of the great man’s bisexuality and let people know that it is, in fact, ok to be gay.
An awesome movie that I think does Alexander justice is Alexander Revisited. It takes the audience on a three and a half hour journey through Alexander’s life and is done with wonderful respect of him. I found this movie at my local HMV. You shouldn’t have a problem finding it. Happy watching!
Today I would like to give a great big thumbs up to all of the awesome families out there. I am sure that many of the truly amazing people that we have around today would not be here if they did not have family to encourage them.
A family does not have to be people even related to you. A family can be people that you care about and people who care about you. Anyone you spend a lot of time with can be family, even your pets. A family is merely two or more individuals that care about eachother.
Many people take their families for granted. But when they are gone, they are missed dearly. Don’t let your time with your family slip away, it is something that should be cherished and remembered forever. If you think you don’t have a family, go out and find one. There are billions of people on this planet, I am sure that you can find one that you can relate to.
So here’s a thumbs up to the families of the world.
Today I am giving a thumbs up to all teachers that don’t pick favourites. I am sure we have all seen an educator that grades some students easier than others based on their personal opinion of the person. Every student should be treated fairly and equally in the classroom and should be judged on academic success, not personality. So here is a thumbs up to the teachers that do treat students fairly and equally.
I recently befriended a woman who has the goal of working as a doctor in Africa when she finishes university. Honestly, I find this awesome and I feel like there should be more people in the world like this remarkable person. The sheer amount of selflessness required to do something like this is, in today’s world, very hard to find in a person. This woman is going to give up years of her life for the sole purpose of making the lives of the less fortunate better. I am giving a thumbs up to this young lady and all others like her or aspiring to be like her. We need more people like this in the world.
Today, I am giving a thumbs up to every person involved in getting indigenous peoples around the world treated as equals.
As many know, there have been horrible and disturbing things done to indigenous peoples, some include: Canada’s Residential Schools, hunting indigenous peoples for sport, trying to justify the mass murder of numerous indigenous peoples, et cetera.
I believe that we should not dwell on the past, but instead, need to be reminded of our mistakes so that we may learn from them. So here’s both of my thumbs held high for the people battling for the fair treatment of indigenous peoples.
A little over a year ago there was a tremendous earthquake off the coast of Japan. This earthquake caused a 23 foot tall tsunami that changed the lives of many. It was reported that there were 15,839 dead, 5,950 injured, and 3,642 missing.
Today, I am giving a huge thumbs up to every person, country, and organization involved in the rescue, recovery, and rehabilitation of the people and places that were devastated by the earthquake and tsunami.
